India > Mumbai > Studio Mumbai

Founded by architect Bijoy Jain in 2005, Studio Mumbai’s work explores the boundaries between art, architecture and the material world. His studio operates as an interdisciplinary group of architects, engineers, master builders, artisans, technicians and artists between India, Japan and Europe. The collective is involved in the research and development of projects using processes and time as an integral part of their expression and with water, air and light as the basis. Jain explains this over the phone from his Mumbai home. The idea of ‘Man in nature – nature in man, is about tuning in, being in contact with people and things, the environment at large, it is an energy field that allows us to exchange, and resonate between diverse entities.’
