The exhibition The World of Utrecht tells the story of Utrecht, that consists of many stories at once. The themes addressed in the arrangement date back to the beginning of the calendar and have an international reach.
The Centraal Museum wants to provide a fresh perspective on more or lesser known art works, that are being shown in non-chronological order in a different context.
A growing together of modern art, history, fashion and costumes, ancient and applied arts, with work by among others Gerrit Rietveld, Gerard van Honthorst, Jan van Scorel, Charley Toorop, Marlene Dumas, Viktor & Rolf, Iris van Herpen and Bas Kosters.
