The Rhythm Painter – Jaap Drupsteen

Rijksmuseum Twenthe | 09/04/2016 - 02/10/2016

Drupsteen’s work is the result of researching Synchresis, a concept by the French composer and theoretician Michel Chion, that is about the relationship between things that are seen and heard at the same time. The perceptions of the eye and the ear are influenced by each other and give each other meaning.

The Rhythm Painter is an audiovisual installation that fills all corners and walls of a gallery space that is as big as 400 squared metre. The installation consists of dozens of audiovisual compositions that merge into one coherent experience.
