Silvia B. – In state of doubt

Rijksmuseum Twenthe presents an overview of the sculptures and drawings that Silvia B. (1963) made over the last 20 years. She made hybrid creatures that fall between humans and animals, children and adults or man and women.

The works put forward her varied fascinations: the attraction of the deviant, our relationship with animals and our animalistic ‘nature’, and the tension between esthetics and ethics that is made tangible in her collection of animal curiosities. Silvia B. doesn’t want to take a stance or impose a position, but to spark a thinking process.
