RembrandtLAB

| 01/06/2016 - 30/09/2016

RembrandtLAB is an innovative research on colour and the use of colour, in which the 17th century use of colour by Rembrandt is translated to the 21st century by contemporary designers. The RembrandtLAB is an initiative of Museum De Lakenhal, The Rembrandt House Museum, Leiden Marketing and Cultuurfonds who collectively commissioned this research to designers Maarten Kolk & Guus Kusters.

The RembrandtLAB will be an experimental place where creative people are annually given the chance to research Rembrandt’s materials. Maarten Kolk & Guus Kusters (Studio Maarten Kolk & Guus Kusters) were the first in a series of artists to do research in the RembrandtLAB. The results of their research will be presented for the first time in the Rembrandt Lokaal in Leiden, from March 24th 2016 on.

After three months, in June, the RembrandtLAB will travel to the Rembrandt House Museum in Amsterdam and after that, to the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven.
