Jan Dibbets Colorstudies 1976-2015

This Summer, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam presents Jan Dibbets’ recent series New Colorstudies (2010-2015), based on two negatives of car surfaces from 1976.

The New Colorstudies are being presented in combination with the initial Color Studies from the seventies. At the time, they were printed at the maximum size. The extreme enlargements that are possible now due to digital techniques have lead up to the new monumental ‘abstract’ colour studies.
