Hans Steffelaar / We Won

A solo exhibition by the Dutch artist and doctor Hans Steffelaar (1940). His work revolves around how we are being driven by our expectations, ambitions, beliefs and ideals. Steffelaar believes we are constantly looking for triumph – but once we are victorious, do not ask at what cost. We Won is not only the title of his first museum exhibition, but also the name of a series of dark, ominous paintings which portray the darker side of our conquest for success.
