This exhibition brings together treasures from three municipal collections: artifacts and historical objects from the collections of the municipality Deventer, Museum de Lakenhal in Leiden and the Dordrechts Museum. The exhibition expresses the importance of the collections for the various cities and the importance of all municipalities that, together, tell the story of the Netherlands.
Uit liefde voor de stad (For the Love of the City) comprises amongst others ‘The Spectacle-pedlar‘ (Sight) from 1624, that is part of a series of five paintings devoted to the five senses, painted by Rembrandt van Rijn.
