Bettina Speckner’s jewelry reminds of the passing of time and the finitude of life. Even in items without photo’s, there is a sense of something elusive, vulnerable almost.

The historical, often 19th-century prints that Speckner uses, can be easily associated with the ephemeral past, but this notion of ephemerality nonetheless relates as much to the temporality of the present, close to home too.
