Craigie Horsfield is an English contemporary artist who made a name for himself with his photographic work, social projects, films and experimental sound works.
Contrary to quick photography with snapshots and selfies, Horsfield takes time for the whole process of taking photographs instead. He uses the idea of slow time for this: his photographs are executed in laborious media and techniques, where there can be many years between the photographic shot and the eventual production of the artwork.
Recurrent themes in Horsfield’s practice are traditions, rituals and relationships. The work makes you reflect on yourself and your relationship with the world around you.
