Celluloid

In times of fast and almost complete digitalization of the moving image, EYE wants to focus on the remarkable qualities of 16 and 35mm celluloid film material and the way this material is projected.

This international group exhibition shows work by a number of artists who are interested in the specific qualities and properties of analogue film.

All artists incorporate the idiosyncrasy of the celluloid and film equipment in complex and exceptional films and installations. With work by Tacita Dean, João Maria Gusmão & Pedro Paiva, Rosa Barba and Sandra Gibson & Luis Recoder.
