British-Indian sculptor Anish Kapoor explores the void in relation to matter, which results in freestanding sculptures and ambitious installations. A lot of his work seems to withdraw into the distance or – like holes – disappear into the ground. Quite often, the work seems to transform the space it is surrounded by.
