In See All This #43, time takes centre stage – measurable and elusive, cosmic and everyday. What if we loosened our grip on the clock and lived more in tune with light and darkness, nature and the seasons? Physicists, philosophers and artists each approach this elusive concept in their own way.
In the visual essay, time takes shape through light, landscape, movement, memory and decay.
Science journalist Yannick Fritschy looks at what physics tells us about time: is it truly a fundamental part of the universe, or does it emerge from something deeper? Writer and philosopher Joke J. Hermsen approaches time from within, writing about the difference between clock time and experienced time, between Chronos and Kairos – and about what happens when we do not just measure time, but experience it.
We also look ahead to the new exhibition season, with ten shows not to miss, from Yayoi Kusama and Marisol to Helen Frankenthaler and Donald Judd. We travel to Kent, through gardens, artists’ studios, country houses and along the English coast. And everything that grows in between: art, nature, books, travel, and an ever-changing mix of discoveries, large and small.
See All This #43 launches on 25th September 2026.
