The beehives of Orto del Terzo Paradiso in the park of Villa Piazzo in Pettinengo form part of Pistoletto’s first permanent installation in the world. Terzo Paradiso (Third Paradise) is an artistic and philosophical project that envisions a world in which artificiality and nature are in balance. The beekeepers are people who have applied for asylum in Italy and, whilst awaiting a decision, are provided with accommodation and training.
