1m2 Flax Course | From seed to linen
Garden
Product: 1m2 Flax Course | From seed to linen
From seed to linen | Crafts Council Nederland & The Linen Project
A course in growing, harvesting and spinning flax
All you need is a small patch of garden to grow your own flax. Would you like to learn how to do that – and how to spin that flax into yarn, so that you can eventually weave your own linen cloth, for example?
During the 1m2 flax course, which you can follow from home, you will discover the entire process under expert guidance: from seed to thread. You will receive flax seeds to plant, practical newsletters with tutorials, and access to online webinars. Once harvested, you can process your flax at home using self-made tools or join a processing day at the LiBarn of The Linen Project in Duiven (near Arnhem), where all necessary equipment is available.
If you’d also like to turn your flax into yarn, you can book an additional spinning course afterwards. This can be followed in Arnhem, Utrecht or Friesland. The result: your own linen thread, which you can then use for the next step – for example, weaving your own tea towel.

Price: €45
Includes seed for your 1m2 of flax, practical newsletters with tutorials, and access to three online webinars. Also included is a processing day in Duiven, where you will have the opportunity to process your own 1m2 of flax. The result is a flax bundle, which you can then spin into thread yourself.
The working language of the project is Dutch, but it’s a great way to learn Dutch.
The course is sold out at See All This. However, you can still register via Crafts Council. Please do so before April 10, as registration closes after that. Go to https://craftscouncil.nl/product/1m2-vlas-2026-last-minute/
