The early pioneers of digital art come together in this exhibition, where technology forms an integral part of the artistic process: from algorithmically generated paintings to retro video games that uncover hidden histories. Featuring works by Suzanne Treister, Geert Mul, and Feng Mengbo.

At its center is Horizons (2008) by Dutch artist Geert Mul (1965). In this work, visitors move through a projected landscape composed of more than two hundred horizon images from the museum’s collection. Specially for this exhibition, Horizons has been restored after twenty years, raising an important question: how do we preserve digital art for the future? Suzanne Treister (1958) presents works from her Hexen series, in which the power structures behind technology are laid bare.
