Brabantse Nieuwe

With Brabantse Nieuwe: Noor Boiten, the Noordbrabants Museum presents artist Noor Boiten’s (1999) first solo exhibition in a museum: a series of mixed-media video installations bringing together sculpture, video, text, 3D animation and photography, on view in the museum’s freely accessible Koetshuis. Boiten, who graduated from St. Joost in Breda in 2023, examines how digital culture shapes our ideas about identity, gender and consumer behaviour. At the heart of her work lies the relationship between people and images: how we look, what we see and how that shapes our thinking.

Boiten is fascinated by how people move through offline and online spaces alike, combining imagery from digital culture with a narrative built up in layers. The result is an environment that is at once personal and observational, inviting visitors to form their own associations and bring their own background to the work. The exhibition is part of the Brabantse Nieuwe series, which gives young artists with ties to Brabant a larger platform for the first time.
