Lisa Konno (1992) and Paul Kooiker (1964) each have a unique, recognisable signature and work in an interdisciplinary way across the worlds of fashion, photography, visual art, installation, and performance. In this exhibition, both artists present an autonomous project originally created as part of a performance and not previously shown in a museum context. Their objects and images enter into a dialogue with one another and with the audience about the power and influence of fashion and its role in shaping identity. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on identity, without aiming to offer straightforward answers.

Konno presents costumes and accessories from Figure (2025/26), her recent collaboration with Dutch National Opera & Ballet, in which the body and feminine beauty take center stage. She reveals how identity is formed in relation to beauty ideals and the fashion industry. Kooiker presents his series Business of Fashion (2018), in which influential figures from the fashion world are photographed in timeless, detached poses that evoke an unsettling, almost inhuman atmosphere. Through this work, he opens up space to consider what identity means within the world of fashion.
