Hendrik Chabot Prize 2026

On April 21, Mayor Carola Schouten awarded three Rotterdam art prizes, including the Hendrik Chabot Prize, to artists who have made a significant contribution to Rotterdam’s art scene. The nominees are Silvia B. (1963), Evelyn Taocheng Wang (1981), and Anne Wenzel (1972), whose work will be on view this spring and summer at the Chabot Museum.

The jury has awarded the Hendrik Chabot Prize 2026 to Silvia B. The jury appreciates the enduring quality of her work and the way she addresses major themes such as vulnerability and humanity without offering easy answers. This layered approach contributes to the lasting relevance of her work. In addition to her artistic practice, Silvia B. is also committed to supporting other artists and the broader cultural field. Several works by Silvia B., Evelyn Taocheng Wang, and Anne Wenzel will be on display during the exhibition.
