Flowers Forever

Kunsthal Rotterdam

  • Address:

    Museumpark, Westzeedijk 341,
    3015 AA Rotterdam

Across seven thematic chapters, Kunsthal Rotterdam guides you through iconic artworks, sensory installations, botanical drawings, herbariums, fashion, and contemporary objects that explore the role of flowers in rituals, mythology, politics, and culture.

Upon entering, you are immediately immersed in the monumental installation Calyx by British artist Rebecca Louise Law (1980). Composed of more than one hundred thousand suspended dried flowers, the work creates a sensory environment and invites you to slow down, to take your time, and enter a moment of stillness and reflection. Featuring over two hundred works, Flowers Forever offers, for the first time in the Netherlands, an extensive cultural-historical overview of the flower.
