Sag mir wo die Blumen sind

Van Gogh Museum

  • Address:

    Museumplein 10
    1071 DJ Amsterdam

As a 19-year-old, Anselm Kiefer (1945) travelled in the footsteps of Van Gogh, from the Netherlands to Belgium, Paris and Arles. Later in life, he settled on the site of an abandoned silk factory in southern France, growing giant sunflowers that he photographed and painted. This spring, Kiefer and Van Gogh can be admired side by side in this major exhibition in collaboration with the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

ls visitors can visit two museums with one ticket. The diptych exhibition highlights the artist’s special connection with Vincent van Gogh’s work and for the first time shows all Kiefer’s beloved works from the Stedelijk’s collection. Both venues will also feature new, previously unexhibited works by the artist, including the exhibition’s immense and breathtaking title work Sag mir wo die Blumen sind.
