Make Your Own Ernst Haeckel

Artist and biologist Ernst Haeckel (1834–1919) brought together the most diverse organisms in his famous Kunstformen der Natur – from jellyfish and corals to microscopically small radiolarians. His drawings move between natural science and art, precise observation and a strong sense of colour and composition.

This workshop takes his way of looking as its starting point. Under the guidance of artist Kika Notten, who cites Haeckel as a source of inspiration for her own work, you create nature studies on paper. You explore line, structure, repetition and form, translating what you see into an image of your own.
