Breaking #253
‘daar is-ie weer, dat keurslijf’
I thought this: I am all about paper. I am all about print. I am all about the flat surface. I am all about turning the page. But there it is again, that self-imposed straitjacket where we believe what fits us must define us. Once more, I find myself proven wrong, discovering that our so-called identity – what belongs to us and what doesn’t – is far more fluid than I imagined.
We’ve spent the past few months working together in three teams: web designers, developers and See All This. This week marked a milestone as we finalised the design for the last pages of our brand-new online platform – our digital home. We saw only static pages for now, but soon they will be dynamic, linked and interactive.
The brief was to craft a smooth, light, tactile, sophisticated, energetic, hushed, analogue online world as a counterpart to the magazine on paper. An impossible task, leave that to me, and yet I believe we are getting there. I’ve come to see the digital realm as an organism – it’s like peering through a kaleidoscope of endless patterns and possibilities.
Can a website truly feel like home? Can a digital environment enhance your wellbeing? Is it possible to create an online sanctuary for beauty, art, and nature? While the ultimate judgment rests with you, we believe deeply in this possibility – it was the vision that launched our journey. What’s undeniable is that our magazine has finally found its digital family.
We invite you to leaf through (magazine), read (verhalen), look (exhibitions), collect (shop), connect and create (events), and wander (reizen) to irresistible places where art and nature meet.
