Setouchi Triennale, October 2025

Travel

We invite you on a special journey to the beautiful Setouchi Islands in Japan in October 2025, curated in collaboration with Dimsum Reizen. This tailor-made art, craft, and nature trip takes you to the most remarkable spots on these islands, guided by dedicated experts, and will take place in October 2025.

Next year promises to be truly exceptional, as your journey will include a visit to the Setouchi Triennale, one of the world’s most spectacular art festivals. Additionally, you can extend your trip with a special program focusing on art and architecture in Tokyo or ceramics in Tamba Sasayama. Through this art room, you can reserve your spot for the trip.

UPDATE: This trip is now fully booked. Due to high demand, a second Setouchi trip has been scheduled, taking place from October 22 to November 1. Book your ticket for this additional trip here >

‘The Setouchi Islands are often called one of the most hopeful places on Earth – a place where art and nature become one’

This trip is curated by See All This and Dimsum Reizen, the travel agency which has been organising trips to Asia and other destinations for over twenty years. This programme, specially curated for readers of See All This, includes surprising encounters with locals, takes you to undiscovered places and enables unique visits to museums, temples and gardens on the Setouchi islands, both in nature and in the cities such as Kyoto and Osaka. Meet artists, visit studios and allow yourself to be tempted by the unsurpassable refinement of Japanese cuisine.

Dimsum Reizen is convinced that travelling in a responsible manner can bring a positive contribution to a more sustainable world. Therefore, they make sure to pay attention to the impact their travels have on the social structure of local communities and on the ecology of the earth. A special feature of this edition is that you can extend the trip with a specially compiled programme. These extensions can also be booked separately from this trip.
– Extension 1: Art & architecture in Tokyo
– Extension 2: Ceramics in Tamba Sasayama

In this Art Room, you will already discover some highlights of the trip. Read more about them and book your spot at the bottom of this Art Room.

The trip is subject to current travel advisories.
If the trip is fully booked, a second trip may be organized depending on demand.

Information about extensions:
The ceramics trip in Kyoto and the art and architecture trip in Tokyo can also be booked separately. For more info, email sarah@dim-sum.nl. Participants of the main trip will be given priority for booking the extensions. Extensions will be offered directly to those who book the base trip.

Extensions require a minimum of 4 participants. If there are fewer travelers, the price will increase (due to high costs for specialist guides and ceramicists). Don’t wait too long to book an extension: prices in Japan are dynamic, and the longer you wait, the more likely an extra fee will be added. Booking quickly, in this case, means within a month.

For the ceramics program, there is space for a maximum of 8 participants. For the art & architecture program in Tokyo, there is space for 16 participants
