Serving plate OER 6 — Extra Large

In her ceramics studio in Amsterdam-Noord, Marjoke de Heer creates exceptionally beautiful plates and objects using her own locally sourced, recycled clay. Her pieces are praised by top chefs around the world as the perfect backdrop for their culinary creations. You won’t find complete dinner sets for sale — De Heer’s work is meant to be collected, plate by plate, if you’re lucky enough to find one.

Each piece is unique, thrown on the potter’s wheel using a blend of clay from the polder near Amsterdam and recycled materials. The glaze is equally special: a signature wood ash glaze made with 50% ash from prunings collected in and around Amsterdam.

Technically known as reduced stoneware, these ceramics are high-fired, incredibly strong, food-safe, and dishwasher-safe.
