For his famous work Eternity – based on a 3D model of the original Nefertiti bust – Tomáš Libertíny (1979) collaborated with 60,000 bees. Under the guidance of the artist and the queen bee, ingenious honeycomb sculptures were created, which are now on display in Libertíny’s first solo exhibition in the Netherlands.

Libertíny draws his inspiration from art history, architecture and nature. Over a period of twenty years, his research and experimentation led to a co-creation with bees. Eternity is a celebration of eternity and the infinite cycle of the creative process, which is reflected in the pattern of the honeycomb. The film Inside the Beehive gives you more insight into Libertíny’s work and the life of bees.
