With his solo exhibition For Eternity, artist Tomáš Libertíny (SK, 1979) crowns his nearly twenty-year collaboration with nature – more specifically, with honeybees. Through experimentation and research, the artist has increasingly succeeded in enticing his bees into co-creating ingenious honeycomb sculptures. For his timeless visual language, he draws inspiration from art history, architecture, and nature.
Whether Libertíny has his bee colonies build a Greek amphora, the bust of Nefertiti, or a simple conical form, each object celebrates what has existed for eternity and always will: the infinite cycle of creation, the wax, and its makers. For Eternity is Libertíny’s first solo museum exhibition in the Netherlands.
This exhibition is made possible with the support of het Cultuurfonds.
