The work of artist Tino Sehgal (1976) is entirely immaterial: physical presence, interaction and social dynamics are central. At De Pont, he presents a new live work, This youiiyou, a choreography of voice, rhythm and body language around the theme of connection between generations. One of his most intimate works to date.
The exhibition features a sensory performance by a group of participants, which visitors can experience in silence and with full attention. With his works, Sehgal broadens the visual arts and creates space for an emotionally charged experience. The physical interaction, which is immaterial and cannot be replicated, makes his work temporary in nature whilst the physical reflection of the exhibition remains present.
