Shertise Solano

In Move You Fool, Shertise Solano (1982) presents her latest work, for which tarot cards serve as the starting point. Tarot and art have more in common than you might think. Both can awaken something within you. Together with curator of modern art Catrien Schreuder, she held several tarot sessions. Their conversations about tarot, art, and life form the foundation of this exhibition.

Solano is trained as an actor at the University of Arts Utrecht. She specialized in the method of Jacques Lecoq, which focuses on the body and movement. After years in the theatre world, Solano shifted her focus to the visual arts. She works across various disciplines, including collage, animation, video, and spatial installation. The body plays a central role in her work.
