Roni Horn

Roni Horn (1955) prefers everything in pairs: ‘If you have one, you have one. If you have two, you have the space between them, plus you have difference. And difference is where everything opens up.’ At De Pont, the New York-based artist will again present her impressive installation Pair Field: 18 sculptural pairs made of solid copper and steel. Also on show is the portrait series she made in Iceland: ‘Big enough to get lost. Small enough to find yourself. That’s how you use the island. I come here to put myself in the world.’
