Dumas’ works are presented in dialogue with Cycladic and Hellenistic artefacts from the museum’s permanent collection, selected by the artist herself. These sometimes millennia-old objects typically depict an abstracted human form — a theme that runs like a thread through Dumas’ own work as well, along with the complexity of existence: birth, sex, ageing, and death.

Dumas: ‘These works have a timeless quality, as if freed from our human Prejudices.’
