The LAM Museum is located on the Keukenhof Estate, where daylight streams through the windows and visitors are welcomed by the sound installations of Susan Philipsz (1965), gently humming around the building. Everyday objects, such as food, drink, and consumption, are cast in a new light by the striking artworks in the exhibition Feast at the Table.
Earlier this year, the LAM Museum acquired The Dishwasher by Anthony Goicolea as part of its permanent collection. Feast at the Table invites us into moments of togetherness around tables, in living rooms and kitchens. Do Ho Suh (1962), for instance, creates staircases, cupboards, ovens, and other domestic objects from a light, translucent fabric. Coral-like forms made from toothpicks by Chris Soal (1994) also reimagine seemingly ordinary elements of daily life in unexpected ways.
