Through Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du Printemps and Pina
Bausch’s re-interpretation, the ground is laid bare for the first museum exhibition of Helene Pade (b. 1997): Spring begins.
A woman is chosen to sacrifice herself, but Pade masterfully
presents her as a protagonist. Her remarkable paintings
testify a range of emotions: joy, loneliness, suffering, longing,
and the subversive power of the female body.

The Danish artist experiments with the art history of the Western world, where past and present merge into dream-like narratives. Central to Pade’s artistic work is a new painterly approach to depicting female embodiment today. The paintings contain a primordial force that expresses longing, loneliness, joy and suffering.

Eva Helene Pade graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2024.
