Why did people in the Bronze Age throw their most precious possessions into rivers and swamps? From 14 June 2025, the Limburgs Museum will take young and old on a magical voyage of discovery. In the exhibition ‘Enchanting Bronze – The Riddle of the River’, visitors will travel back in time as much as 4,000 years. The exhibition is inspired by the children’s book ‘Bronze. About shiny treasures in misty marshes‘ by Linda Dielemans. A family adventure full of riddles and rituals.

The exhibition invites you to unravel the mystery of bronze. Because bronze was incredibly precious in the Bronze Age, and yet beautiful jewellery and swords disappeared in swamps and rivers. Why? That is what visitors discover on an interactive journey past enigmatic sites and the most beautiful axes, jewellery and swords from thousands of years ago.
