Am I Masculine?

The personal quest of guest curator Roberto Luis Martins led him to create an exhibition exploring the meaning of masculinity. Through classical ideals (now popular again thanks to the “Greek Body” TikTok trend), personal stories, contemporary artworks and fashion, the many faces of masculinity are examined in depth.

In patriarchal societies, masculinity is cast in a rigid and narrowly defined ideal. At the same time, this image is also subject to change: lace, pink and heels were once considered highly masculine, whereas today different ideas prevail. The exhibition shows that the concept of masculinity is not a law of nature, but a cultural construct. Perhaps masculinity is not something you are or possess, but something that can be continually reinvented.
