In Alles stroomt, the Dordrechts Museum brings together for the first time its recent acquisitions and long-term loans from 2020 to 2025: a diverse range of paintings, video works, and sculptures by leading contemporary artists. These works take the visitors through contemporary landscapes, portraits, dream worlds, and reflections on the 21st century.
From long strands of hair rippling around a face in a monumental painting by Katinka Lampe, to an ocean filled with plastic waste in a video by Anouk Kruithof, the artworks in Alles stroomt reveal both the harmony and the disharmony between humanity, nature, and society. Some works offer a contemporary continuation of great painting traditions from the past, such as the enormous bird-filled painting by Niek Hendrix, inspired by a historical ceiling fresco. At the same time, the museum is building a collection for future generations: the birds bathe in a rainbow of colours that reflects the richness and diversity of our world.
