Rotterdam’s docks is where new lives began for millions of people: from here they left for the US or arrived from China or Cape Verde. From the 16 May, Fenix: the world’s first museum telling migration stories through the eyes of artists, opens in the monumental San Francisco warehouse on this dockside.
The exhibition All Directions features Fenix’s collection: a collection of artworks by more than a hundred artists from all over the world. And among the art you will find tangible reminders of the eventful history of migration, such as a segment of the Berlin Wall, a tent from a refugee camp and one of the very first stateless passports.
