“Making art is very difficult. So then it should at least be an adventure.” - Van Lieshout

On Sunday, Sept. 15, See All This is hosting a meeting with Joep van Lieshout at his studio site.

By water cab, we depart from Hotel New York and float through the harbors to BRUTUS; the workshop and exhibition space. In addition to meeting Van Lieshout, we are shown around the workshop and the temporary group exhibition Secret Society. After drinks, the water cab will take us back to Wilhelminapier.

Joep van Lieshout and AVL Mundo.
The Dutch artist has been working in the Vierhavens (M4H) area of Rotterdam for more than thirty years. With his Atelier Van Lieshout, he creates three-dimensional art, architecture and design objects that can be called, borderless, controversial and averse. His work ranges from machines to furniture, from buildings to sculptures, and from installations to designs for utopian and dystopian cities. Joep van Lieshout is an artist with an international reputation, with exhibitions in museums and galleries at home and abroad.

In 2008, Joep van Lieshout founded the AVL Mundo Foundation. This foundation aims to support culture in the broadest sense of the word. From BRUTUS, a 3500 m2 old factory building on the Keileweg in Rotterdam, the foundation organizes exhibitions and events.
