ABOUT ROOSMARIJN PALLANDT
Roosmarijn Pallandt (1977) travels to places where everything is animate: the river, the rock and the tree. She treks with nomads through the desert in Iran and is initiated into the rituals of shamans in Japan. “I find it liberating to be in new places and to put myself in other customs,” she tells See All This #16.
Pallandt has spent the past nine years traveling Tibet, Indonesia, Iran, Peru, Portugal and Japan. She goes to pristine areas to join close-knit natural communities who are one with the piece of earth they inhabit for weeks or months. Together with them, she creates weavings. She also records her surroundings with a camera.
