During this special master class with world-renowned artist Claudy Jongstra, you will gain unique insight into Jongstra’s working process and experiment with different techniques she uses to create textile works.

10.30 – 11.00 a.m.: walk-in with tea and coffee
11:00 – 13:00: experiment with different techniques such as felting, spinning, weaving, vegetable dyeing, watercolor painting
13.00 – 13.45: lunch in the @droog cafe
13.45 – 15.30 hrs: continuation master class

Studio Claudy Jongstra and See All This invite you to a special master class at a unique location in Amsterdam: in the building where the famous steel masters once judged cloth fabrics.

Since 2001, Claudy Jongstra and Claudia Busson have maintained a special place in Friesland where they care for a flock of rare Drentse Heid sheep, where they grow a botanical garden with special crops that provide natural pigments, and from where they collaborate with biodynamic farmers in the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. In this place, monumental works of art are made of wool, in shimmering colors and with materials and raw materials from the garden. Knowledge is also transferred here about age-old techniques and recipes that are increasingly disappearing.

In a region where large-scale agriculture is dominant and land is intensively exploited, Studio Claudy Jongstra founded LOADS in September 2022: a self-sustaining place of creativity, focused on continuous development in new sustainable approaches, based on livelihoods for the future generation for rural and urban communities.
