Claudy Jongstra
To celebrate the launch of Pretty Brilliant: Women in the Arts Vol. III, which explores the theme of goddesses, Claudy Jongstra has created a new series of unique felt artworks. These vibrant pieces are crafted from wool sourced from Jongstra’s own herd of Drenthe Heath sheep, combined with silk and merino wool. They feature four distinctive color palettes, ranging from warm amber and gold to rich Burgundian black and deep indigo.

Claudy Jongstra recently became the first person in the world to receive the Demeter quality mark for her textiles, named after the goddess of agriculture and the harvest. For her LOADSCollection label, she developed biodynamic textiles using natural fibres and vegetable dyes. The Pretty Brilliant series follows this same ethos, crafted entirely from local, natural materials sourced from Jongstra’s own farm and botanical garden – including walnut, indigo, woad, and onion skin.
