The Rijksmuseum is the museum of the Netherlands. In 2013, the completely renovated museum opened its doors to the public with a breathtaking building, a surprising interior and wonderful exhibitions – all with the motto: The Rijksmuseum connects people, art and history.
As a national institution, the Rijksmuseum offers a representative overview of Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages onwards and important aspects of European and Asian art. The museum preserves, manages, conserves, restores, researches, processes, collects, publishes and presents objects of art and history, inside and outside its own building.
