The Gemeentemuseum The Hague was designed to surprise you while wandering around. The exhibition rooms are filled with twentieth century icons like Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky and Francis Bacon. The collection also comprises contemporary artists like Marlene Dumas, Panamarenko and Frank Stella. Furthermore, the museum has the biggest Piet Mondriaan collection in the world, providing an overview of Mondriaan’s growth from talented landscape painter to a pioneer of modern art.
Besides modern art, the Gemeentemuseum also hosts exhibition rooms filled with rare delft blue, silver from the Hague and glittering glass from ancient times to the present. The Gemeentemuseum also presents their couture in a yearly fashion show.
