7x kunstenaarskapellen

“Het is eenvoudig om te dromen over een kapel… Maar het is heel iets anders om jezelf op te sluiten in een minuscuul Romaans schip, in een droogdok, en te wachten op haar bevelen.” Toch is dat wat kunstenaar Jean Cocteau deed. En hij was niet de enige. Ook kunstenaars als Henri Matisse, Mark Rothko en Ellsworth Kelly legden zich jaren toe op het maken van een kapel. Sommige traditioneel, met glas-in-lood-ramen, altaarstukken en muurschilderingen, andere onorthodox, met monochromen, lichtinstallaties en textiel, maar allemaal met ruimte voor meditatie, contemplatie en verlichting.
